hsdemonz 14 Jul 2006 | : unrelentless meaningless drivel
I lack the vernacular to put into words the shock I had on July 12th, when I started to read the replies of my July 11th post. As my HSDEMONZ.com posts go, this one got 3x the responses that any previous single post had.
While some echoed the feelings and the troubles I had following the Soccer tourney result… others blasted me, some even so far to utter ethnic/racial slurs. That’s fine, people are welcome to their options.
Absolutely nothing I said, I would consider taking back. Nothing.
My issues, and concerns were genuine, as were my feeling about the game of soccer, the game results, and my feeling about the fanatics that followed the game. I write at the bottom of each post I write.. “that’s my opinion, I’m HSDEMONZ.. and you aren’t!”
For those of you that don’t share my opinion that day, or choose to be ignorant and draw incorrect conclusions from it, you can all get on your knees and pleasure me.
What I write on this page.. are my opinions, thoughts and rants. It surely doesn’t represent XS, or any other site or group I’m affiliated with. This is my outlet, where I write to entertain me, and if I’m lucky, some of you.
I’ll never apologize for my genuine posts. Nor should I.
I am completely uncensored here. That’s what you get when you read this page, and you can expect that in the future. I would think by now, that anyone who has read more than a post or two on this page, is a fan. (or.. why read it?) and as such, expect no less from my than my total and unabridged, unedited, and uncensored honestly.
For the crack-heads that actually even went so far as to call this admitted redneck a racist, go crawl back under your desk and jerk yourselves a shake while downloading mpegs of whatever woman you think you deserve to fuck.
Some of us.. are actually in the real world. Married. Kids. Jobs. The whole deal. Don’t confuse honesty and opinions as blatant racism.
Racism, is for the small minded. That’s one term that doesn’t fit me. (but.. apparently does fit some who accused me of such, given the tone and comments in their replies.)
So.. while I don’t hate Italians, nor have any ever given me a reason to hate them, I will continue to enjoy the benefits of living in a nice Italian Neighborhood. Good food, hot women, and others who can tend to any needs I have.
Team Canada 2010. Wait for it!
(hopefully.. manned by Italians.)

I’m not the biggest UFC fan. I watched the first 8 or nine straight.. but after that, I doubt I’ve watched more than 2 per year since.
Shamrock and Ortiz should have been a classic. Buy rates for UFC 61 were awesome, and I’m sure in no small part to those two heavy hitters.
Anyone who has seen the fight.. or at least that one match knows the disappointment I feel. It was a total fuckjob. All that hype.. marketing.. and bitching and banter back and forth.
A UFC fight.. with some real heat.. between two guys who wanted to clobber the shit outta each other. Few UFC cards have a much leadup heat as this one did for it’s marquee match.
Then.. we see Shamrock go down, and 5 or so unanswered Elbows into the match, and Ortiz is given the decision by the referee. Shamrock jumps 8 feet into the air in total disbelief.
Anyone who has seen Shamrock fight, whether you are a fan or not know that a large part of his style is taking blows. Largely unanswered. He can take it. His pain threshold is incredible by any measure.
However, UFC has changed a lot since the early days. If you are going to take blows, you better at least swing once and a while. Shamrock, laid limp.. took 5 or so shots.. and the ref presumably did the right thing.
It made for a lousy PPV. A lousy match.
Shamrock was livid. But, given the UFC rules, he has only himself to blame.
What I fear now is, the lame buildup they will do for the next rematch. I have no doubt there will be one, given the buy rates of 61. Let’s just hope if they mix it up again, either Shamrock gets some shots in, or the ref let’s them just go at it.

What a difference a week makes. We were treat to the first not so sucky ECW on SCIFI episode this week. Reportedly.. it did a 2.4. Nice bounce back.
Even if we ignore the Early July show during the holiday week.. (1.4 rating that show) and look to the show before that.. (a 2.1 I think..) they still brought back over 600,000 viewers from 2 weeks ago.
How’d they pull this off?
ECW, with it’s hardcore audience, and much of which I’d call smart marks or smarks, are in tune with the internet, and the popular dirt sheets. Most of them feel, I’m sure that they know the inner workings.. or at least are privy to them via these dirt sheets that tell us about the ins and outs of the biz.
With these dirt sheets feeding us info (and sometimes misinformation) we are currently being told the following regarding the ECW product we see on TV..
-Heyman and Dreamer, are largely not in control, and hardly have the book these days.
-Vince and his yes men are currently booking ECW
-Extreme/Hardcore matches/rules will be rare, once per episode is we are lucky.
-Half the “ECW” talent we saw on the first show, aren’t even being called to the Tapings.
-ECW on SCI, is a short term deal, with no ECW Scheduled beyond September.
-EC F’N W T-Shirts, will only be sold until current stock runs out. Vince, and Sci-Fi apparently do like seeing the F’N all over the TV. (they like seeing the $$$ from the sales though..)
-RVD is off of TV for 30 days, after being forced to drop both his belts. (although.. apparently, he will be in line to get the ECW belt back in short order)
So.. with all of this behind the scenes stuff happening.. and what was though to be a hopeless downward spiral how did they manage to pull a good rating out of their ass?
Let’s look at what they did differently this week..
RAW.. they did two things.. they had Heyman appear and invite Candice Michelle to ECW for a dance thing with Kelly Kelly. Second, Having the Big Show challenge Ric Flair to a Title match. (for the one World Title Flair hasn’t held.)
Now.. I doubt anyone would bother to tune into a show for Candice alone.
That title match.. hell.. even non title match would be great with Flair. Flair, while old and ancient and maybe 20 years past his good days can still go, and give a good.. Show.
Flair stole the show. Not that the Big Show didn’t help. But Ric did everything we’d expect from an ECW alumni.. despite him never having been in an ECW arean before. Short of a flaming Table or Bat, Ric manage to sway the crowd, so much so that towards the end Ric was earning the coveted “ECW” chants.
Show got the duke.. Flair left a bloody mess.. and for the first time since this ECW hit SCIFI, I felt we saw a glimpse of what the new ECW could and should be. All it took was a near 60 year old man to bleed a few pints.
Actually.. as much as I’d love to put Show and Flair over as the reasons for the shows success, some other elements came into play..
Heyman spent some time in the ring, doing a promo like few can. While it was a bit corny.. it was typical Heyman diatribe. (Covering up the fact that RVD was in violation of current WWE policies, and was being punished for them)
Dreamer/Test wasn’t very entertaining.. and frankly now I know why Dreamer had no career in the WWE. If Dreamer can’t be “extreme” he hasn’t any value to the on screen show whatsoever. Personally.. I found TEST far more interesting to watch in that match. Test over Dreamer in short order.
The Kelly Kelly bimbo segment this week was the first one worth watching in my opinion. I have no idea what her past history is.. but I doubt it was as an exotic dancer, or anything else requiring skill or rythym. Despite her looks, she was a bore to watch before.
But, with Candice Michelle joining her.. and watching them grope each other at least we had something to watch. It’s also clear that Candice at least is comfortable with being half naked and performing, while Kelly isn’t.
For the first time since ECW aired on SCIFI, the Sandman segment wasn’t total cheese. When Knox ended the Kelly/Candice segment, Sandman busted Knox up with his Singapore cane.
CM Punk does another promo, talking about his ink, his beliefs, and his lifestyle. (enough already with the talking. Get this guy in the ring.. please.)
Sabu vs Justin Credible. Mr Aldo Montoya couldn’t entertain me during the ECW first run.. and he hasn’t done it yet with this one. Sabu fortunately, put an end to the match by going extreme towards the end, ending the match. (match wasn’t and extreme rules match.)
Ballz Mahoney cuts a promo. That guy should not talk. Just swing chairs.
Overall.. it was a good show.. and a decent card. (what do you want for a WWE product that is an hour long (42-47 minutes)
I hope that some of this momentum can be carried forward, with the first matches of CM Punk, Shannon Moore, and some other new upcoming talents like those in OVW.

Ok.. I’ve never claimed to be a big soccer fan. This time of year doesn’t do a thing for me as far as soccer goes. I’m not sure it it’s because Canada doesn’t have a team worth talking about.. much less watching.
What I’ve never understood.. about soccer fans.. (or frankly.. any fanatics of pro sports like Soccer, and to a lesser extent Hockey, Football and Baseball) is the mob mentality. Or their mutual sense in joining into a celebration that honestly, has little to do with themselves, their family, or their country of origin for that matter.
With the FIFA and other big ass tournaments, we get soccer teams from all around the world sending a squad of their best and most talented goofs in cleats to a field in a stadium in a country far away from their own.
These guys, in their colorful costumes, knee high socks, and shin pads gather on a over manicured field playing a child’s game for a trophy (and who am I kidding.. for coveted shots at sponsorships and endorsements)
I won’t ever say these guys aren’t talented at what they do. But, considering the stage we give them as a captive audience, and the money, and TV time we dedicate to the sport at that level.. it’s actually pretty crazy if you think about it.
More kids play pick up sticks than soccer world wide. No one dedicates weeks of TV time.. or give Ti Ho in Hong Kong any endorsements. Imagine.. with that kind of time and money that is involved, what could be down to solve global problems.
Or, at least bring exposure to something worthwhile.
Soccer fans are the worst fans, when compared to fans of other major sports that are televised on a grand scale. How many times have these idiots trampled themselves at the side of a field. I expect that in the running of the bulls, but not from a sport that is supposed to be civilized, and sometimes called a sport of Gentlemen.
Personally, I had hoped for a combination of events that would have put Italy against Brazil. Didn’t happen that way though.
So, we were treat to some awesome soccer, by squads of men playing a children’s game on a grand stage for all the world to see. Then the worst thing happened.
Italy won!
I love Italians. But I’m not one of them. I moved into this neighborhood last September knowing it was 80% Italian. I accepted that. This area, Italians fly their flags all year round, not just when FIFA rears it’s ugly head.
Up until the end of the game, I prayed that somehow Italy would lose. (yet.. I wasn’t cheering for France.) I simply didn’t want Italy to win. I knew what would follow.
As luck would have it, My little girls birthday party fell on Game Day. Not only that, but people were supposed to start showing up around the time the game ended. Sure enough.. some were stuck in traffic and delayed.
Even before Italy won, the morons were gathering in the streets blowing their car horns, air horns, and anything else they could find that made some annoying noise.
Then the Game Ended. Italy Won!
The next 8 hours, the neighborhood erupted with incredibly loud music booming for the 3 local Italian bars/cafes, which all of a sudden had DJ’d music blaring. (non of those dives do the kind of biz they did Game Day as they do the rest of the month..)
That’s fine. I’m not a prick. It’s Sunday though.. and people in the real world have to sleep, and get up for work Monday.
The Music though, seemed to know no end. Well after midnight, the DJ’s blasted their music, until the police told the store owners to cease.
For the next 3-4 hours though.. the morons took to their cars, and drove the city waving their silly flags as if they had somehow contributed to the event.
Sure enough.. me, the wife, and our kid got no sleep. However, as a responsible adult.. I still went to work with no sleep. So did my wife.
What was interesting, was seeing the ghost town Monday. A lot of people did NOT go to work that day. At my place, 70% of the Italians called in “sick”
Uh huh. More like hung over and exhausted. After all, it’s not easy drinking in the streets, driving your car with the cousins you fucked as a teenager hanging out the window dukes of hazard style waving a flag for a country you aren’t even in at the moment. (how’s that for a run-on sentence?)
Anyways.. I get to work to find that our work force was down 35% that morning.. and sure enough.. you guessed it.. it was the Italians that were M.I.A.
Well.. before the weekend.. my boss let everyone know the deal.. regarding absenteeism. Given, that most who were absent on Monday, also constituted the less desirables in our workforce (less desirable, as in lazy, sickly, away a lot, dog fuckers who hide and bitch instead of getting the job done) the boss exercised his rights as an employer and terminated many of those who called in that day. (for the others, a warning was put on their work records)
An informal poll, of 3 other workplaces with staff over 80 people or more and I found a similar absentee rate that day, and a similar end result coming from management.
I hope that the “fanatics” that enjoyed themselves Sunday.. also enjoyed hearing the messages on their answering machines as their jobs were being forfeited.
A few of those that were let go at my place.. came in Today.. begging for their jobs back. I’ve only been at this new workplace myself for less than 2 months, but I was pleased to be let in on the decision so early to YAY or NAY on their asses.
People might get the wrong idea about this post.. and construe from it some hidden angst against Italians. Nothing could be further from the truth. I moved to this area, so that I could have Italians prepare my meals, wash my clothes, and clean and maintain my car. We also have them groom and maintain my wife’s hairstyles. I don’t know what we’d do without the Italians.
I do know though.. that we’d have slept a lot better Sunday night if so many of them weren’t poor citizens and disrespected that fact that some of us can’t stay home and collect welfare cheques or sick pay for being drunk and disorderly when so many of them should have been home getting some restso they could have worked the next day.
Thank God it’s once every 4 years.

Wow.
That’s all I can say when I think about the last 30 days for the WWE’s vision of ECW.
Coming off of a good ECW PPV June 11, 2006 where RVD took the WWE Championship from John Cena, and a half dozen or so other good matches it’s hard to believe that in just 4 weeks (4 televised ECW on SCIFI shows) and cross-overs with Raw and Smackdown that the WWE has managed to flush what was a great idea.
Go back almost 2 years.. WWE decided to release the Rise and Fall of ECW on DVD. It sells like mad. RVD and company push Vince to Consider ECW, One Night Stand. Vince accepts, and June of 2005 saw the return of ECW to PPV.
It does great numbers. Vince is impressed. Then the world fell silent. What should have been a re-launch of ECW on TV then.. was nothing more than 7-8 months of silence. Then we hear rumors that ECW would return, but take the TV spot of shit shows like Velocity or Heat. Fine.. why not. We don’t care about those two shows.. and their 1.0+ ratings or less is an indicator that no one else does either.
Then we hear.. of all places.. SCIFI was going to pick up an hour a week of “live” ECW. ECW was reborn. As part of the launch, the new June 2006 PPV. A list of great matches.. most better than great.
Then..
ECW.06.13.06 (2.7)
-RVD crowned ECW Champ with the ECW belt
-Edge/Lita and Cena crash the party, Cena lays out Heyman
-Zombie appears.. and is squashed by Sandman.
-filler: Tazz/Lawler match from ECW One Night Stand (II) thrown in
-Kurt Angle wipes the floor with Justin Credible
-Blond bimbo Kelly Kelly “the exhibitionist” proves she’s a blond.. and can’t even get her bra undone.
-ECW battle royal, Sabu wins
ECW.06.20.06 (2.3)
-lame intro with some Psychic chick
-Sabu over Tony Mamaluke
-RVD promo
-Tommy Dreamer picks a fight with the Big Show.. Show Squashes him.
-Nacho Libre (does a macho man style promo) up until Sandman canes and squashes him.
-Heyman rallies the troops, Cena walks into the ECW locker-room and challenges Sabu. Sabu accepts. Cena turns back, and walks out.
-bimbo Kelly Kelly does yet another slow and painful strip tease. How can a body that hot.. move with so little rhythm. Her goof boyfriend Know stops her anyways.
-Edge/Orton vs RVD and Angle. Awesome match.
ECW.06.27.06 (2.2)
-Sabu vs Roadkill. Sabu wins.
-dumb vampire character promo
-Dreamer asks for more from the Big Show. Show looks more awesome this week. Leave Dreamer for dead again.
-Kurt Angle promo. Serious shit. Precursor to him leaving..
-Knox accompanied by Kelly Kelly vs Danny Doring. Knox gets the duke.
-Male Stripper-Gram type character appears, Sandman canes the shit outta him.
-Edge cuts a promo
-RVD defends his title against Angle.. great match.
Then.. the worst possible thing could have happened. RVD and Sabu were pulled over, driving form an Smackdown/ECW taping to the Raw Live event. When they were pulled over, the police did a search and found all kinds of naughty things.
Given the WWE wellness policy, RVD and Sabu were in some trouble. Both however, were the shining stars of the new ECW. Vince decided to have Rob Drop the WWE belt on RAW.07.03.06.. and the ECW belt on SCIFI-ECW.07.04.06
ECW.07.04.06 (1.4)
-Heyman opens, announcing RVD dropped the WWE strap to Edge on RAW the night before. Show appears, and announces he wants a title shot.
-Kelly Kelly shows us again.. lacking any feeling, emotion.. or rhythm why hot blonds are only good for one thing.
-Knox vs Little Guido. Knox gets the duke.
-RVD promo, he’ll defend against the Big Show.
-Dumbass Preacher type gimmick character.. calls ECW fans sinners.. Sandman shows him some hell. Squash.
-Test (Andrew Martin) makes his first appearance, squashed Al Snow. Looks good.
-RVD vs Big Show, ECW title match, Heyman screws RVD, and RVD drops the bel to the Big Show.
As of last weeks show.. ECW on Sci Fi had dropped to roughly HALF the audience they had a month ago. Going from a 2.7, then 2.3, then 2.2, and last weeks 1.4 is just sad.
What is more sad.. is that all the Smark talk seems to say that Heyman and Dreamer aren’t calling any of the shots, and that Vince is running it solely as a third brand without much “ECW” alumni input. If that’s true.. ECW is dead.
Vince had access to a lot of ECW stars.. and what does he do? He tells half of them don’t show up to the TV taping. Then, the other half.. that do show up.. don’t really get to work anyways.
It’s great and all seeing RVD, Angle, Edge, Show, and Cena on TV every weeks.. but jesus, this was supposed to be the second coming of ECW.
At this point.. I’d rather see SciFi show us some Battlestar Galactica reruns in that time slot.
Might as well call it Vince Championship Wrestling, VCW.. or just re-brand it Smackdown.
While talking about Smackdown.. I’m far more impressed with it lately. Dunno if it’s because ECW sucks.. or what.
Anyone wanting to watch ECW.. the REAL ECW should frequent the newsgroups. Currently, there’s been some 1996 classics posted.
