Last post.. I shit on the site that was raping XS members for beat up CORE systems. I still think it was uncool what they did. Sometimes.. it’s not all about the dollar. Greed has killed more than one scene. Shops should remember that.
Had to quash some of those RECALL rumors being pushed around the scene by some sites. You guys know I love you.. but Sources like Managers at Best Buy no less. Shame. Shame! Being a manager at Best Buy is like being a Head Fry Cook at McDonalds then expecting them to give you a good recipe for Crème Boulee
BTW… I got an awesome recipe.
Had to go to the horses mouth to get the scoop on the rumors, but Major Nelson set things right. Listen to his Blogcast.
Added Need For Speed to the collection.. nice title. This is one driving game I can actually see myself finishing. Also grabbed Kameo.. and already.. 20 minutes in I feel somewhat let down. I haven’t given up on it.. yet.
Finally got a chance to see the full video from the guy who was in line with me at Best Buy here in Toronto. For those of you that missed the news I posted last week on Xbox-Scene.com this guy stood in line.. for 55 hours.. got his console.. and smashed it for all to see. Purchased with the donated funds from netizens. I don’t agree with what he did, but I give him credit for having a plan, following through with it. He’s still a nutbar though. This coming from me…
Check out his site at smashmyxbox.com and watch his video. I mirrored the video here.
I’m pleased with the response to the Xbox360 First Week Review. As always.. I write for me, but I’m equally pleased to see the responses.. good and bad. Keeps me interested.
I’m real disappointed by the news of the upcoming Japanese Launch. It’s truly sad, that despite the best intentions, Microsoft has dropped the ball in Japan again. Yes demand is going to be much lower there for the console, but Jesus people, give them some damn games to play. How about just giving them some more of their OLDER games to play on the 360. MS earns HSD’s Hall Of Shame for the Japanese Rollout.
For those following my “POWER ON” 360 issues, I got some info from some enlightened sources as to why it occurred. Poor USB/HID support in the 360, probably matched with a less than full spec USB implementation on my cheapie USB keyboard. Regardless.. I’m once again in control of when and how my 360 turns on.
I also encourage anyone playing common games to message me on 360 Live and request an Add Friend. Chat me up.. I’d love to hear from you.

Well.. it looks like some shops have decided to rape customers…
It was only a matter of time before shops took advantage of the shortages of consoles and tried to squeeze money out of you as if it were blood and their life depended on your blood. Check this out..
It’s one thing when one guy stands in line all night.. and get s console.. and maybe wants to add a few buck to the price for his time and effort. I call that value.
It’s another thing for well established shops to rake people over the coals for every dime they can squeeze out of them. Not Cool.
People in this scene will remember how well shops treated them when they needed the shop the most. I know I won’t forget.
Send letters to shops that you feel are ripping off customers. Let them know you won’t stand for highway robbery. In some areas there are actually laws against some of the things shops like this are doing right now.
Do I sound a bit upset? Sure. I got a half dozen buddies who got the right amount of money to buy a Premium system.. and a half dozen games. None of them want to get raped though for a half beaten up CORE system.. especially when they know a CORE is not a good value money wise to begin with.
CORE doesn’t have the Hard drive. No Hard Drive.. equal no backwards compatibility. You know what that means? No Halo2 online. CORE has no headset either, castrated video cables, no remote, etc. The Premium is GOOD VALUE for the money compared to the core.
Rant over. Hopefully.. people can exert some pressure and get shops to drop their inflated prices. If not.. we’ll vote with our wallets and our voices on the forums.
My opinion is my own. Clearly you wanted to read my opinion or you wouldn’t have read this far down the page. For those of you that don’t agree.. bite me. I will continue to educate the morons.. er.. the masses as I see fit.

I grabbed one of those new faceplates, shame they launched with only 4 options. I think they should sell new blank ones so that people can work with a blank canvas and paint their own.
As you can see.. since I prefer Blue.. I really only have one option. I dig the color, but not the pin stripes. I had to hit up 8 shops over two days to get that blue one. Seems like no one wants the silver one. Black on is impossible to find. The Woodlook one.. is ugly.. and look ridiculous against the white shell.
Anyways.. as always.. HSD finds a way to add risk to life, even with the simplest of mods. (I don’t really call this a mod.. buying a replacement part is NOT a mod.)
Some photography I took for no real reason other than I photograph everything I do all the time..

I noticed we posted another story about graphical hiccups in games on www.xbox-scene.com again. I just wanted to add my two cents. While I have no doubt we’ll see more of this issue.. in other launch titles.. on launch consoles.. I have to say that at least some of these issues being reports on the net are USER ERROR.
How so?
People seem to forget what it is they have in a 360. They have an extremely powerful computer, more power than most home pc’s you guys are using to read this on. This little beastie, eat air like Chinese eat rice. Seriously.. there is a reason there is 2 fans in it.. and some big ass heatsinks.. and vents on all the sides.
This thing wants air.
So what did half (It’s a magical number I made up.. don’t like it.. eat me) of the people do? Some put it on the carpet. Other cramed it into their uber slick home threatre entertainment stand.. some with those slick looking wood or glass doors.
The result? The unit either suffocates for fresh air.. or worse.. eats recycled hot air.
Damn.. you mean that if you feed the 360 hot air.. and don’t allow for proper ventilation.. it’ll over heat and die?
Yup.
Now.. clearly.. not everyone with heat issues were dumb with their box. I have no doubt some of the unit have duds for fans. Others probably got heatsinks that aren’t quite right, etc. But some people.. fooked themselves. Period. They won’t admit it.. cause of course.. they are perfect and are “tech savvy” or worse… “work in a tech field”
I’d just like to remind people.. that despite the number of people whining and bitching about dead units.. defective units, or other intermittent issues.. that the 360 launch, has had less problematic consoles released than the original console did.
Now.. just so people don’t think I’m blowing smoke.. I can count myself amongst those that have had issues. When I got my unit home.. and allowed it tim to acclimate to the room temperature, I played Quake4 extra disk, then Quake4 Game disk with no issues. Project Gotham Racing 3 however, booted to a white screen with the “please put in an x360 message”
It’s an intermittent issue. But it’s there.
Aside from that.. I’m enjoying all my games, and my new console.
Anyone that wants to come and chat, or come and play my tag is HSDEMONZ. I currently own Quake4, PGR3, Call of Duty2, and PerfectDark Zero limited edition. (course I got Halo2.. but we’re in the 360 age now..)

Wrestling.. real or fake.. who the fuck cares. It’s entertainment ffs. It might not be your brand of entertainment.. but for millions of rednecks around the round we get off on it. Some of us were brought up on it.
The Guerrero family is synonymous with wrestling. That name, and it’s bloodlines has a long standing tradition of professional wrestling all over this continent, and in Europe and Japan.
Eddie, has wrestled more than just men.. he’s wrestled the demons of addiction time and again. He won some battles, and he lost some. He relationships, career, and even marriage suffered at different times. Throughout it all he managed to regain his footing, retake his career, re-marry his wife and through it all become a WWE champion in 2004.
2005 hasn’t been that hot a year for him. He got to wrestle in a 3 month long program with his long time buddy Rey Mysterio in a program that was designed to keep both of them in the marquee level matches. It was a stinker of a storyline though.
With that program behind him, he again found himself in main event level matches on PPV, but no as a winner. Who knows what the result of his current program would have been. Maybe 2005 was destined to all be a career year for him.
As a flagship wrestler for the WWE Smackdown brand, he was a constant reminder of what an entertainer SHOULD be. Surely, he had pride, ego, and all the other trappings of any other contender, but the man was a consummate professional. I’m sure that the RAW and SMACKDOWN tapings that will be done on Monday will reflect how much the locker-rooms of both brands loved Eddie.
I imagine the RAW vs SMACKDOWN rivalry will be put aside for one night, at least for a few minutes.
Personally.. if I was asked who are the top 5 wrestlers currently active in the biz, Eddie would have to be in the top 3, sitting with Benoit and Angle in good company. With the Passing of Eddie, I’ve lost one of the few reasons I had to even watch the Smackdown brand.
Evidence of how good Eddie is.. was seen with his appearance with Batista, the current World Champ. Eddie carried Batista, both in the interview segment, and in the in ring stuff. (much like how HHH carried Batista on Raw earlier in the year.)
Eddie, has been able to work with the best and the worst in the industry, and made everyone look good doing it.
I wish the entire Guerrero family only the best, and I hope that Eddie finds the peace in heaven he couldn’t seem to find while on Earth.
R.I.P Eddie.
